The tower is also adorned with bronze groupings of mermaids and tritons, as well as two groupings of centaurs, situated around a small and a large pool. At the foot of the tower, the Friedrichsplatz spreads out, designed by Bruno Schmitz in the early part of the 20th Century, consisting of semi-circular arcades of red sandstone.
